Please describe your relevant analytical skills. I have been President and Board member of two nonprofits and volunteered at church and Austin ISD as well. I know what it takes to make a nonprofit run well, market itself, and serve its constituents. I also am a real estate and estate planning attorney and can analyze documents and issues for big picture issues as well as small details that matter. Working in a real estate appraisal office for the past 20 years has also given me a unique perspective and knowledge of Austin real estate.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. As a volunteer in many diverse organizations, I have come into contact with every socioeconomic level and every race and culture. I respect all individuals as individuals and do not pigeon hole anyone into any category.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I have lived here for 20 years and 4 years previously. I have always loved Austin's diverse culture - from hippies to whatever. I love that we have so many folks from other countries as well which adds a richness to our diversity.
Please provide your employment history. Volunteer - President and board member of 2 nonprofit athletic associations (NWLL and NWAYBA), working closely with City of Austin Parks & Rec. Department and Austin ISD Facilities (12 and 7 years). Volunteer at church and at Austin ISD schools serving students of all socioeconomic levels and of all races (15 years). Attorney focusing on Real Estate and Estate Planning . Office Manager for a residential real estate appraisal company, managing HR, providing bookkeeping services, and maintaining accounts receivable. I have expert knowledge of Austin real estate from my experiences as an attorney and working with my husband in his real estate appraisal business.
