Please describe your relevant analytical skills. | My former marketing career included media analysis, case study writing, SWAT analysis and making client recommendations based on data and trends. I organize and plan many events for networks and organizations, and I am capable of viewing problems at a high level or getting into the details. |
Please describe your ability to be impartial. | For the last two years, I have volunteered for Braver Angels, a national organization hoping to depolarize America. I have moderated many meetings between liberals and conservatives as we try to find common ground and develop empathy and understanding for the "other side." I have hosted many Civil Discourse Dinners in our home, inviting people from all political views to discuss big issues (immigration, healthcare, gun control) and learn to disagree well. I grew up here. I love this city and would like to help it stay wonderful. |
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. | Every sector of Austin has a unique personality, its own landmarks, its own history. I have lived in three different districts. I have friends and family in most districts. I respect that each district wants to maintain its heritage while creating the most opportunity and the strongest future for its residents. What a Barton Hills family loves about Austin may be very different from what a Dover Springs or Montopolis family loves. |
