Please describe your relevant analytical skills. I have strong analytical and creative skills, my colleagues called me a "guru" in Exel and financial modelling. I was a licensed CPA and Real Estate Broker in Texas for ten years. In the private sector I worked as health care consultant and CFO and helped start four companies, while in the government I was audit liaison officer, executive officer, controller and program officer. In the US Navy Reserves, I served as an intelligence officer.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. If you are referring to race, I married an Hispanic Austinite and my two sons and I now speak Spanish pretty well. I lived and worked 2 years in Spain, 5 years in Latin America, 10 years in Arab & Jewish countries, and 2 years in Africa. My heart is for Africa. If you are referring to religion, my Christian values demand impartiality and God loves justice. I have been active in seven different denominations. If you are referring to politics, I watch very little MSM news. I've lived overseas 22 years. I have voted Democrat, Independent, and Republican and suspect that you will not find many others who have.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I grew up in West Austin near our Municipal Golf course, when East Austin was a bit taboo. After retiring from USAID, I returned home sold my parent's home in West Austin; tore down an old rental property that I owned for 30 years and built a beautiful new home in East Austin near the homeless tents, where I now reside. I installed 74 solar panels in my two homes, and I am currently installing a 5000 gallon rainwater harvest system. All of these require working with city permit offices and inspectors. Geography: I know Austin well. I've lived in Austin full time for 31 years and visited once or twice annually while working overseas. Besides residing in West Austin, UT area, South Austin & now East Austin, I have played golf at all of the public courses in Austin, fished on Town Lake, Lake Austin, and the lower Colorado River, horseback riding at Rio Vista Farm near the airport, substituted at various public schools in South and Central Austin, established a business at Hancock Center, owned property in Lakeway, and now live near Muellar.

First, I'm a native Austinite, born in Austin, graduated from Austin High School and attended University of Texas for both undergraduate and graduate school, with a semester in U. of Costa Rica. My professional career has sent me around the world in both the private and public sectors.
