Please describe your relevant analytical skills. Quantitative, qualitative, and policy analysis skills. Minor in epidemiology.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. I strive to make decisions based on all data and evidence available, even if the evidence is adjacent to my beliefs.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I grew up in central East Austin and went on many adventures to the greenbelt, Zilker, and Barton Springs especially during high school. My mother attended old Anderson on the eastside and was a lifeguard at segregated pools. As Austin continues to change and grow, I continue to appreciate Austin's diversity.
Please provide your employment history. I started my doctorate degree in 2014 and I am now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UT Austin. I study the health disparities of marginalized populations, using both quantitative and qualitative data, to create sustainable interventions. My experience as a researcher makes me a good candidate for the ICRC because I am trained to identify disparities and work with communities to eradicate inequities.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. I am passionate about creating an equitable Austin. I love Austin, and I want to be involved with the evolution of Austin.
