Please describe your relevant analytical skills. As a Program Administrator, working as an Assistant Manager For Crime Victims Services Division, I analyze the merits of applications of applicants and of the applications employees have reviewed, who have, reviewed 100s of applications a week. From analyzing crime reports and interviews with law enforcement, I am proud of the sound judgement I have made regarding these decisions in my 25 year career.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. Being able to make just Crime Victim Compensation decisions takes the ability to see all sides of a matter and still be committed to maintain the law in a compassionate manner. As a manager, I have also led with the same demeanor.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I wholeheartedly believe the diversity in Austin ( or anywhere) is a gift. Men, women, the old, the young, the many races, ethnicities, world views and backgrounds all make up Austin and respecting the diversity is what makes Austin- Austin. Building a community that respects diversity is an ongoing challenge, but all folks, no matter who, make up the richness of Austin.
Please provide your employment history. I have listed my skills in the 1st 2 questions. I have worked with Crime Victims Services Division at the OAG for more than 25 years. I am honored to be be able to do the work I do and I am passionate about my impact in making the world, in my corner, a little better.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. I am an independent thinker and really do try to learn all sides of an issue.
