Please describe your relevant analytical skills. I’ve been a paralegal for 39 years and have The ability to understand technical documents and Legalese. In my job as a paralegal, I am primarily responsible for analyzing massive collections of documents and distilling the important information.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. I value highly civil political discourse. I find it very unfortunate that people do not have the ability to listen to the ideas of others without becoming uncivilized and intolerant. A large part of my job is analyzing both sides of a legal dispute and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of both.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I believe Austin is the most compassionate and caring community in the state of Texas, maybe in the United States. That is due in large part to our acceptance and appreciation of diverse cultures, experiences and opinions.
Please provide your employment history. I have been a paralegal with the same law firm in Austin, Germer, Beaman & Brown, for the past 23 years. Prior to that I worked as a paralegal with various law firms in Dallas.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. I have never been involved in any civic activities in Austin and like mini regular citizens, have often shied away because they often become so uncivilized. But I think it’s time for regular every day citizens to start stepping up. I am an information hound and a massive reader of the news. All the news. From all sides and all perspectives. I would bring I believe, a fresh and very balanced perspective to this condition.
