Please describe your relevant analytical skills. As a campus administrator, I break down data on a weekly basis. I am familiar with spreadsheets and have spent years reviewing data for TAKS and STAAR testing. I am good with math and was a science teacher.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. As a campus administrator, I have to be fair to both teachers and parents that may not agree. It's important that teachers feel supported with difficult students, while ensuring parents that I am not simply sticking up for the teacher if their kiddo is difficult. I have to keep a balance so that the student, parent and teacher can continue to move forward.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I currently live in Heritage Hills which as been identified as one of the more diverse neighborhoods in the city. I have lived here for 13 years and have seen changes over time in the city. It's important to have a strong balance across the entire city so that everyone is truly represented and knows that they are fully heard.
Please provide your employment history. As an educator, I have worked collaboratively with groups of staff, parents and stakeholders to build campus improvement plans and promote continual school improvement. I would bring my experience, knowledge and skills to the team as we work together.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. I am available to take off on days to be a part of in-person meetings. I am also very skilled with both Zoom and Google Meetings if we need to be in virtual meetings. Thank you!
