Please describe your relevant analytical skills. | I am a citizen of the city of Austin who possesses great analytical skills including great communication skills and critical thinking. I love to conduct research especially regarding the government and politics and would love the opportunity to be a part of history and help reshape Austin's future. I like to find solutions by using creative techniques as well as methodical approaches. I believe in teamwork, and enhancing group productivity by using a holistic approach to bring the best individually to help the group succeed as a whole. |
Please describe your ability to be impartial. | I definitely am able to judge and consider something as fairly as possible without letting my own interest, personal beliefs, and influence affect my decision making. I believe in fairness and justice. I once served on a jury in Boston, Ma, which i think is a great example of showing my ability to be completely impartial. |
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. | I love the diversity that Austin and the state of Texas has become. I think it is very important for all the different cultures to feel at home in the city and that is one of the reasons why I decided to move to Austin over 7 years ago. With the Latinx population growing, I think it is very important that our city allows this growth to occur and that we can provide the citizens with what they need. Redistricting will allow that to happen and in my opinion is the best way for minority groups to be able to have proper representation to their needs, wants, and dreams. I believe every citizen deserves equality of opportunity and outcome. |
Please provide your employment history. | I am a student at Austin Community College studying Cyber Security, but am also taking a few classes in United States government and also Texas State and local government. I have always had an interest in local government and feel that the classes have really inspired me to try to get into local government. |
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. | I am a student that cares a lot about the city where I live, work, and play in. Austin is a wonderful city, but with growth comes change. I think the best way we can provide the citizens with the best opportunities are are fair is to engage in local politics and government. I would love to be a part of this opportunity because I want to see more diversity in local politics. |
