Please describe your relevant analytical skills. I’m a good listener, like to speak my mind, give my honest opinion, tell how it is, but be respectful, show professional courtesy,
Please describe your ability to be impartial. Well I have worked for the Texas of Criminal Justice, 2 separate times in my life. The 1st time, I was a Drug & Alcohol Counselor Intern, at a SAFP Unit up East Texas. For 5 years. Unfortunately it’s the only 1 still remaining being officially supervised and ran by TDCJ. The last lonely hold out, from such a great program, idea and brain child of 1, of the BEST GOVERNOR’S that, not only has this State but the Country has ever seen, let alone elected and that would be Former Governor Ann Richards GOD REST HER. The 2nd time around, I worked at Maximum Unit, which was the Telford Unit, in New Boston, Tx. Where I worked as a Correctional Officer for about a year and half, until I got assaulted 2 separate times by different Inmates and realized I no longer could do my job properly. So I resigned, my commission. In both jobs, I outlined above. I always upheld not only my personal standards, but TDCJ’S as well 1st and foremost. I treated the inmates, with dignity, respect, as human beings, never passing judgment and like I wanted to be treated.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I treat everyone equally, like human beings and like God would want me to treat people.
Please provide your employment history. I have been through a lot in my life, both good and bad, I’ve had my ups and downs. Spent many years running these and I feel like I have connection not only to Austin itself, but the people as well. I’ve lived since 76. I know the true Keep Austin Weird and dare I say, I know the Nee Austin as well. I have lots of experience with Cultural diversity of the city, later in m 30’s I successfully completed my Counseling Training, with the ICDS Substance Abuse School, where I Graduated successfully, got all my hours and was gracefully granted and given a Intern job, as I previously stated. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get my License/LCDC. I have served 2 separate times as a First Responder/Firefighter on Volunteer department in Winnsboro, Tx.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. I know how to be impartial and passed no judgment until I hear the entire story or both sides.
