Please describe your relevant analytical skills. I work in IT, where I manage a number of people and computer facing systems. Rummaging through lists, running data analytics, and adapting one good fix out of 100 different options depending on the data I have all serves my day-to-day operations.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. Objective impartiality is impossible, even by machines - all things in our lives are ultimately designed by or interpreted by fallible humans. I can't claim to be 100% impartial, due to unconscious biases! That said, I can commit to do the best I can, follow directions as given, and make no conscious effort to color my responses beyond the parameters given.

Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. I could be blithe and call myself the "average Austinite" - 20-something, white Mexican American, works in tech. I enjoy my breakfast tacos before a hike in the western hills or lounging in Zilker. But how often does the "average" Austinite actually engage with ALL of Austin? Why have few of my friends ever ventured past the gentrified, Airbnb'd-out "fancy" parts of the east side? Why do my colleagues, all lifelong Austinies, suffer multi-hour commutes from their homes in Round Rock and Buda? I know I sound like a neoliberal broken record, but it's frank: Our prosperous growth over the past 25 years has come at the expense of attention to our lower income, browner communities, and we need districts that will retrench political power to those communities before they're completely pushed out of the city limits and minds of its more powerful or recent citizens.
Please provide your employment history. 2013-2020: St. Edward's University - I've worked my way up from student tech support to contributing to almost every major university initiative over the last four years. This has shown me the power of collaboration, and specifically collaboration beyond one's immediate monkeyball. It takes a lot of hands to run a school, and those who can't appreciate the sheer number of variables behind success won't cut it. Prior to 2013, I held multiple part time, student-based jobs in the service industry that are of little relevance, with the exception of instilling me with an eternal respect to those who work service jobs.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. Until May 2021, I am also a student, as I am currently completing an MBA degree. I was born in Austin and if I have my way I'll die here too. I want to contribute to our home's continued prosperity - in a way that can be broadened to include those left behind.
