Please describe your relevant analytical skills. As an attorney at the Texas Real Estate Commission, I have reviewed thousands of complaints to determine first jurisdictional issues, whether a violation of the law has been committed, and then what the punishment should be. I also answer questions about the multiple laws administered by my agency and have to try and figure out the question before I can even try to answer it.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. Every day I weigh evidence and credibility to make decisions in my job. There are 2 sides to every story and not everyone is guilty. Or should be believed. If the evidence isn't there, it isn't there.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. Austin in a beautiful city with lots of parks and green space. We have become a melting pot with many races and viewpoints on what happens in our city.
Please provide your employment history. I have been an attorney who makes judgment calls and analyzes information every single day. I also understand public meeting structure and requirements and know there is a process that needs to be followed.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. I'd be a fresh face with no preconceived ideas about where I think we need to go. I also want to ensure that those who live in the far reaches outside the city center are part of the conversation.
