Please describe your relevant analytical skills. Technologist with many years of analytics and reporting experience.
Please describe your ability to be impartial. Member of neither political party. Allow data to drive decisions, not emotion or ideology.
Please describe your appreciation for the City of Austin's diverse demographics and geography. Having grown up in a diverse college town (Ann Arbor, Michigan,) I've always embraced and sought diversity of thought in decision making. I believe that continuing to honor the tradition and diversity of Austin's past, while accepting and accommodating the current and future growth is going to be a challenge, but is critical to maintaining Austin's uniqueness and competitiveness in the coming years.
Please provide your employment history. I've been in the software industry as a developer, consultant, and sales professional. I've worked both for small local startups, as well as large multinational corporations. Having the perspective of Austin's growth for the last 20 years, as well as the global perspective, having traveled and visited so many places, I recognize the special place that Austin is, and the difficult decisions that will need to be made to maintain that "specialness" as we move forward.
Please provide any other information you wish to be considered during the selection of the most qualified applicants for the Commission. As someone who participated in the political process exclusively through voting over the past 25 years, I now believe it's time to get involved. I'm looking to dedicate my time and experience to ensuring Austin is the desirable locale for living, family, and growth for the decades to come.
